Phyto SFH is one of the six nervous system complexes. It is the remedy of choice for adults and children to gain perspective on daily stress and avoid being overwhelmed. Its main actions are nervous, antispasmodic, and anxiolytic. It acts on the cortico-hypothalamic axis to help manage the stress response. It is particularly beneficial in cases of hypodigestion due to anxiety. The complex is also well-suited to anticipatory anxiety and emotional hypersensitivity.
Silver linden has key actions in preventing insomnia thanks to its sedative effects, without affecting motor function.
Silver linden has several traditional uses. (1) postpartum confinement (known as "lying-in"), (2) as a prophylaxis to reduce childbirth complications due to its antispasmodic action (3) calming the nervous system. In TCM, silver linden was considered to "calm the Shen". More recent studies using mouse models have shown the ability of silver linden to cause ankylosing effects.
Hawthorn helps a person build resilience in the face of life's challenges. It also promotes relaxation and prevents emotional outbursts often associated with palpitations.
Hawthorn appears to have hypotensive and vasodilatory effects. In 2020, a systematic review of four trials (n=254) concluded that hawthorn administered for twelve weeks significantly lowered blood pressure in people with mild hypertension.
A 2008 Cochrane review concluded that hawthorn had significant benefit in controlling symptoms and physiological outcomes of chronic heart failure.
