Vitamin E, a peroxyl radical scavenger, is the main fat-soluble component of the cellular antioxidant defense system and is obtained exclusively from food. Plants synthesize eight forms of vitamin E from homogentisic acid: the alpha, beta, gamma, and delta classes of tocopherol and tocotrienol. Although each of these molecules is a peroxyl radical scavenger, the human body appears to have a particular affinity for alpha-tocopherol.
Vitamin E, in general, has been shown to have potential benefits for cardiovascular health and its role in the development of various types of cancer. Vitamin E's ability to inhibit protein kinase C protects against inflammation, lipid accumulation in the aorta, diabetic vascular complications, and platelet aggregation. Tocotrienols also have superior antioxidant capacity and strong neuroprotective capacity.
NFH Complete E SAP provides a high-quality, synergistic combination of tocopherols and mixed tocotrienols for optimal health.
